Blakely is 8 months
- You started eating more Stage 2 baby foods...(still not a fan of the ones with meat in them but will tolerate them)
- Eating more and more solids (bananas, noodles, mashed potatos, etc)
- laughing at everything Brock does...he is just so funny! You love him sooo much...your eyes light up when you see him (and he loves you too)
- crawling everywhere now...from one end of the house to another...not to mention pulling up on everything and walking around the furniture...you will even stand alone for a few seconds...getting more and more sure of yourself everyday....oh BOY!
- you will move small objects toward you and pick them up (you seem to find every crumb on the floor)
- started using your arms to ask me to pick you up from the floor...such a sweet thing!
- reach for the spoon when you are being fed and turn away when you no longer hungry
- babble da...ma..ni..ee
- at the end of the month you started to understand "no"...or at least that you should look up and stop what you are doing.
On September 21, we took you to the doctor because you had a bad cold...ended up being an ear infection and they changed allergy medication...Singulair every night. At this appointment, you weighed 18 pounds and 14 ounces..
Blakely...you are such an amazing little girl...these last few months have been so much fun....I am looking forward to watching you grow up...even though I wish I could freeze time right now...because you are so darn cute! I love you Blakely (AKA: Beezie or BEBE)

Blakely is into EVERYTHING! She started crawling and that was not "cool" enough so the next day she was pulling up...and now she is pulling up on everything and moving from furniture to furniture. We are not encouraging her to walk but she is happier holding your hands and walking from place to place. She does crawl and she will sneak off where the action is...tonight she
crawled into the bathroom to check out Brock taking a bath. In one photo you can see she is so proud that she is standing and such a big girl...the other photo is her "I am up to something" face. This was right before she snuck out of her room and found her way to the bathroom to check on big brother..."What are we going to do with you Miss Beezie?"
I think I am regretting the decision to give my 4 1/2 year old little boy his own cell phone...yes..I said cell phone. A little history...Ross and I had a joint contract or family plan with Verizon...I had a phone and I paid like $9.00 a month to add his phone and we shared minutes. Well, several months ago, Ross' company got him a cell phone and we looked into cutting his old one off. I discovered from Verizon that it would be more expensive to cut off his phone and break my contract than it would be to keep his phone and ride out my contract until January. Needless to say, I have used Ross' old phone on occasions (if my was out of juice, etc) but for the most part, it has been in Brock's room (sitting on his dresser)...I came home the other day and Brock had gotten Ross' old phone, found a charger that worked and was charging the phone. He explained to me that this was Daddy's old phone. I nicely said to Brock that this was daddy's old phone but he could have it now since Daddy did not need it anymore...well, you would have thought this was the best gift ever. After charging the phone, Brock quickly started asking me several people's numbers and began dialing them. This has been a lesson in recognizing our numbers and knowing how to use the phone in the event of an emergency. He called many of his favorite people last night and actually received a few calls tonight. In the picture above, he is talking to someone (seems to be an in depth convo) and in the first photo, he is in his bed, reading a toy magazine and has his phone by him (notice his t-ball trophy is his phone stand...he came up with this)...he said he needed to take his phone to bed so he would not miss another call...He had missed one earlier. Our contract runs out in January and this phone will be cut off then....have I created a monster who will expect to have his own phone in January...it has been fun watching him socialize and communicate on the phone...he is a little man!

Funny story that I must post...so today, Ross picks Brock up from school/daycare..I happened to still be at work..since I work at the church and Brock's school...his teacher pulls me aside after he leaves and tells me the funniest story I must share...
She says today she passes out this sheet filled with all types of shapes and she says to the class that the directions are: "you need to color all the triangles on the page"...she explains what a triangle looks like..she tells me the triangles on the page are turned many different ways to try to confuse the kids a little. Well, Miss Judy says...all of a sudden Brock put his hands on the table and looked up at her...she could tell he was about to say something really profound and he was serious...She said he looked at her and said, "YES...this is just what I have been waiting for..REAL WORK!" He has only been in school one week and for the most part last week, I believe they mostly got acquainted with school so I guess this week...the REAL work begins...I can see his face now!
