Rogers, Kimberly and Margaret came to Kingstree the weekend before Christmas (Dec. 19-20) to open gifts and visit. We ate at Essie's house on Saturday (oyster Rockefeller casserole was top notch!)and opened gifts. That night, we went over to Ellen and Bobby's for the Birchwood Christmas parade (then drinks and snacks). On Sunday, we celebrated Harrell Christmas out at Nicky and Alice's. We had a fun weekend and loved seeing all our cousins!

On December 13, 2009, we had our children's Christmas musical at our church. We have been practicing for it for several months. Brock was a sheep this year. The musical was called, "Shepherds, Sheep and a Savior." It was so cute and the children did a fabulous job!

A few Christmas card photo opportunities!

Take 3 or 4..lost count at this point. B & B were either sick or one certain one did not want to cooperate. Ended up choosing a card with 4 slots for pictures and used 2 of each of them...turned out nice (despite the headache of getting a good shot)

Take 2....

thanksgiving 2009

We have so much to be THANKFUL for. This year, we stayed at home and Nana and Papa and Essie came over for the day. We ate oysters and played outside. Brock loved eating oysters and Blakely loved riding in Brock's GATOR. Brock would whizz around the yard and Blakely was laughing the entire time. We made a fire and roasted marshmallows and made smores...YUMMO! Praise God from whom all blessings flow.

Blakely is 10 months old

Gosh...I cannot believe you are 10 months old. You are almost one and Brock will be 5 before we know it. This past month has been crazy and fun...here are a few milestones from October 23 until now...
-walking around furniture and standing alone for seconds before hitting the floor to crawl.
-on October 27, 2009...you did a complete flip out of your high chair...mommy had unhooked you and you leaned over and did a flip and landed on your back...Mommy panicked and held you tight...even though you were doing fine...we headed to the pediatrician's office just to be on the safe side.
-You loved Halloween and the Pumpkin Patch
-You were a dragonfly for Halloween and were the cutest ever
-You still love to sleep and take 2 naps a day. You are ready for your nighttime bottle around 7:30pm and bed soon after...you would sleep late in the am but we have to wake you at the last minute to head out the door to take Brock to school.
-You actually said MAMA...not just the sound MAAA....and you look at me...this is your favorite word and you say it ALOT!
-You love Baby dolls...you have a special Beanpod baby that you will hold and love....towards the end of your 9 months...you would even say BAAABEE when you held her and then love her and kiss her...it is very sweet.
-you started this whistle thing this month....usually do it without noticing that you are doing it...kinda funny...and not sure what it is all about.
-you will go from sitting to standing without holding on...but then back down...we have been thinking you would walk anyday now.
-You absolutely love to dance and hear music. Anytime music comes on the TV or on your toys, you will break out in a little dance. Too funny!
-you will say BA when you see your bottle and you get real excited.
-love apple juice! Starting to like a sippy cup....
-have been waving Bye-bye since last month but you do it all the time now...
-this month, you hated baths...believe it may be due to your ears...lots of infections...we are scheduled for an ENT appt. the first part of December.
-You are definitely a Mommy's girl but you are staring to love your daddy more and more...when he arrives home, you get real excited and will hold your arms up for him to get you...then you look at Mommy and it is back to her.
-still use a paci to go to sleep - and during the day...getting more and more attached to it and can find them anywhere and put them in your mouth (you also like throwing them out the crib when you are not ready to nap or when you first wake up)..Also love your special blanket (which has no name to date...we call it baba because that is what Brock's is called but we are waiting on your to give us a name)
-like push toys!
-put everything in your mouth ...
- wear 9-12 months clothes...wear size 1 or 2 shoes. Do not like socks or shoes...we get ready to leave and I put you in the car and your socks and shoes are off before our first stop.
-have enough hair to wear a bow
-stand up in the crib a lot and reach up when you want to be picked up.
-You love Brock...you think he hangs the moon...he still thinks you are pretty cool...but does not like you bothering his things. You two love to hug and kiss and he lets you climb all over him
Blakely...this has been a wonderful month. You an Brock are the best things in my life. You two continue to light up my world everyday...
