Checking in

Well...it has been forever since I wrote a post on our Blog...we have just been crazy busy since Brock's birthday party....and time just seems to fly by and I wonder where it has gone....Brock is still in love...and also seems to love school as well. He can write all his alphabet and now can write numbers 0-10...he is now wanting to add numbers together and he is very good with simple addition. He is sooo eager to read....He notices words and their sounds, etc....he will be reading soon! We went to the beach a day this past week during his Spring Break...Brock and Blakely had a ball. Blakely walked the entire beach and Brock was in the ocean in no time...despite the fact it was rather cold...could barely put my big toe in. We all had a great Easter weekend and Spring Break...egg hunts, time with family and friends, relaxing, great weather, lots of sun...etc. Blakely is such a miss priss. She started walking everywhere the day after her birthday and within a day of that, she was running. She has not turned back. She is into EVERYTHING and such a girlie girl one minute and hanging with Brock the next. She loves baby dolls. She love strolling them, feeding them, loving them, etc...She also LOVES to read and look at books. She will sit and look at books forever! Life is good and I feel blessed each day....I know I do not keep up with this as I should but I am enjoying every moment of being a Mama. It is also wonderful seeing how much my children love each other...Brock thinks Blakely is pretty cool...and Blakely "lights up" each time Brock enters the room...it is rather cute! They are two very beautiful children (inside and out)...I often wonder how I got so lucky!

Butterfly Release at WPC

Group shot of all our gorgeous children at WPC!

The Easter Bunny came...Blakely is still asleep...
so Brock enjoyed his goodies all alone for a few minutes!

Each year, church on Easter Sunday is a special day. We start off with an Intergenerational Sunday School...this year, the children read a story and also explained the symbols of Holy Week. After Sunday School and church, we had our annual Butterfly Release after church on the front steps...such a fun time....very symbolic after raising these butterflies from caterpillars to beautiful butterflies...only to release on Easter....Christ is Risen....He is Risen indeed!

After church, we came home to rest before going over to eat with Aunt Ellen and Uncle Bobby. Brock also enjoyed visiting with Abi after lunch...what a beautiful day!

Easter Egg hunt at Essie's

Picture at the end of the day...such a mess....and a miss priss with her shoulder shrug!

Margaret, Blakely, and Brock

Happy Easter!

Ross and Blakely
Billie Ann and Brock...his girlfriend...and they were dressed alike!
We had a blast at the church Easter egg hunt this year. The Easter Bunny hopped over to
see all the kids. We had snacks, played games and hunted for lots of eggs. Margaret, Uncle Rogers, and Aunt Kimberly came in for the special day...and we loved seeing Margaret. Mama
was extra tired after all the activities of the day....but it was a fun, fun day! Easter is my favorite
time of the year. I hope Brock and Blakely love egg hunts for
many years to come...cause they are my favorite!

Brock's 5th Birthday Party

On Saturday, February 6th...all the cowboys and cowgirls gathered at Brock's house for games, pony rides and fun! Almost everyone in his 4K class came, along with many friends a few years younger and older. He has a blast. The day started out with a few rain showers but cleared up (with no rain for almost all the party)...a few showers started towards the end but the kids did not seem to mind. I had come up with 4 games (pan for gold, sharp shooter, lasso the steer, and snake in my boots ) for the kids to play. We also had pony rides...the pony was precious and wonderful with kids. We ate ice cream and cake and made smores by the fire! It was a crazy day but I think everyone had a blast! I told Brock this was his last BIG party...from the next few years at least...Happy Birthday Brock...I love you!

Happy 5th Birthday to Brock...Love, Mommy

Dear Brock....I cannot believe my baby is 5 today. Yes, you are still my baby. I said to someone that I have cried more about your turning 5 than I did when Blakely turned 1. Being 5 makes you such a big boy...no more baby...soon you will be losing your teeth and your voice will start sounding different. I love you to the Moon and Back....I love that you love to be tickled and I love your laugh when I tickle you. You talk with your hands and are very dramatic (where did you get that from???) and you have such an imagination. You still love playing with cars (you have loved cars since you were a baby)...you love Family Game Night and playing outside...you still love all your super hero costumes and sport them around the house (and around town if I let you)...you definitely have an athletic ability (guess you got that from your Daddy)...and I look forward to watching you take your love of football and baseball to new levels...you love going to school and are a good student and friend to others....you get all checks on your listening exercises so I assume you are a good listener at school...sometimes I feel like you tune me out..You can write your name and all your ABC's and are learning to write all your numbers....you are eager to learn to read and use math skills......You still love your BABA....and suck on it to fall asleep...this will always be by your side as long as you still need it...you take it to school everyday that you stay and pull it out for nap time...you are such a tough boy and I love that you have a tender side.....I love how you will look at me at the most random times and say, "Mommy, I love YOU!"...it melts my heart....even though Daddy is a fun buddy....you are still a Mama's boy...I love that when you get hurt and cry...and I kiss your boo-boo...all your tears stop and you run back and do what you were doing...I could go on and on...needless to say, you light up my world...I treasure every moment I have with you because I often think about NOT having you in my life to love. I am so thankful and blessed to be your mommy and I thank God each day for giving me not one but two chances to be your Mommy...I know that you are still here not because you are destined to be or do great things but to just be exactly what God wants you to be...And never forget....I love you to the Moon and Back!

Love, Mommy
Happy 5th Birthday!
